philippine ragnarok online's having a new episode after the server maintenance on wednesday. it's called the tale of two cities: amatsu and kunlun episode, named after the two new cities added on the world of rune midgard.
i'm happy about this cos come to think of it we're always late on episodes (comodo and turtle island, war of emperium, juno) and with the release of this global expansion patches it is a clear sign that we're catching up. even urdr, the player-kill enabled server is out.
it's unfortunate though to have several changes that will come with the patches. most known is the addition of hunterflies to geffen dungeon one and brilights to high orcs. while i do not care for the latter, i am very disappointed with the first one primarilly because geffen one is probably the best place to level a melee (and i'm a melee fan: merchant, battle acolyte and swordman classes. not much with thieves). with the inclusion of hunter flies it would seem to be impossible for me to level there. even a good mob of poison spores right now can kill my low level agi type battlesmith. what more with hunter flies?
the second saddest fact in this patch is sudden aggression of elder willows. they weren't aggressive before. now i wonder how could the melee level up without support. how could someone who is by nature a loner level-up.
it is no secret that thara frogs will be extinct on byalan two. i checked a fan database and showed that it won't even appear on the toad map (geffen field with britoniah on the left and rockers on the right) tharas will only be seen at the right dungeon in comodo and turtle islands. sad innit?
ragnarok wisdom also claims that amatsu patch would bring eath petites to coal mines field. that's enough i guess to make any melee to force themselves to party with acolytes.
what's good with the episode of these two cities then? i know three reasons:
one: the beautiful cities of amatsu and kunlun. these are modeld from ancient japanese (amatsu) and chinese-taiwanese i think (kunlun/gonryun) cities. and because these two beautiful cities simply puts payon (the korean inspired town) to shame, a future patch would revamp payon and would make it at par with the two. *they say it's to match myoung-jin's orginal illustration of payon. we say hey, let's not forget ragnarok online is made in korea.* end of such stuff
two: the wedding patch comes with this episode. the wedding patch is all about allowing players to wed. nuff said i guess. too costly for me now to do. haven't found someone there too. no intentions to look for one. at least at these moment. and besides, no divorce patch coming yet.
three: the supernovice job class is introduced in this episode. a new set of character sprites will be wandering midgard. cool one.
-----------------------
to celebrate this big episode, level up games held a nationwide event last saturday. for luzon it was at market!market! on bonifacio global city, ayala center cebu city for visayas and matina square in davao for mindanao (i'm sounding like an lug site writer eh)
ok neway they've several stuff like booths for the novices, a wedding booth, a jail booth, (sounds like a high school fair?), on the spot drawing contest, ice wall challenge, sage test, henna booth, cosplay, a play, a moonstar88 concert and lots of stuff.
deviantArt people had a mini meet too. however i failed to show up at the meeting place on the right time so i wasn't able to see them. i've several pics of event though. come check some:
